SALLIE HARKER
Sallie Harker was born in England in 1964 and grew up in Scotland. She studied sculpture in Gloucestershire before sailing to Antigua in 1987 where she has lived ever since with her husband and two children, Theodore and Mehalah.
In 2007 Sallie opened the Fig Tree Studio Art Gallery. Here she sells not only her own work but also works by artists from all over the Caribbean and abroad. For her own work, Sallie, experiments with different media and enjoys using oils, watercolour and printmaking. Over the last few years she has developed a technique using gold leaf and oil paints on wooden shingles. She mainly depicts birds and marine life, however is also inspired by Caribbean life and loves to draw portraits and landscapes.
